Frequently Asked Questions:   (FAQ’s)

What is RFPsite.com

RFPsite.com is an Enterprise Class System that reduces the complex procurement process to a couple of simple, easy to manage steps.  The simplest or most complicated environment can utilize our system.  We are able to customize our systems, or boiler plate your process on top of ours.  We will also provide you with a dedicated solution if so desired.

Who We Are

RFPsite.com is owned by 21st Century Laboratories, Inc., a privately held company based in St. Louis, Missouri that was founded in 1997.  Its first online sourcing transactions occurred in early 2000.  Enterprise Leasing and Rent a Car was our first customer and assisted with the development of our enterprise class processes.  RFPsite.com is physically located in two States, New Berlin, Wisconsin and St. Louis, Missouri.  We will soon be expanding into Illinois and Texas.

RFPsite.com has the most diverse e-procurement network for the entire business community. Our system was created using sophisticated and proven enterprise class technology that supports bidding on products and services for every recognized industry within the NAICS 2002 specification.

We work with business and government organizations to form partnerships that help determine trends that assist with meeting the needs of the business community.  RFPsite.com along with it’s' partners form the “RFPSITE.com Network”.

What We Do

RFPsite.com uses its enterprise class technology to reliably and accurately connect buyers with suppliers of every type of products and services.  We facilitate the collaboration, tracking, reporting, networking, research and analysis for the Bidding process.

RFPsite.com enterprise class network supports the REQUEST FOR Quote/Proposal/Bid “RF(X)” processes, buyer or supplier locating, electronic file and data transfers, revision and update notification, inter-system collaboration and communication, research and due diligence, analytics and reporting, and filtering by criteria.  We maintain records on short, mid, and long term basis.  Every process and communication is tracked and available as appropriate.

Who Are Our Customers

"Buyers" using RFPsite.com are typically businesses or organizations requiring the services or products of smaller business suppliers. The RFPsite.com e-procurement network supports over 2300 specific products and services in a powerful and easy drill down database and search engine.

We have a database of over 36,000 suppliers spanning nearly every category; however, buyers are able to have their existing suppliers use our online system as well.  This helps the buyer with spend tracking and reporting, while utilizing the services of known quality.

"Suppliers" using RFPsite.com are typically small businesses of less than 100 employees.  However, midsized and large Corporations may be suppliers as well.  When a RF(X) is posted, notifications are sent to members with compatible NAICS codes.  At that point, a buyer may become a supplier and submit a bid in response to the request for bid/proposal/quote “RF(X)”.

How accurate is the information on RFPsite.com

Our information is very accurate, and we take every precaution possible to assure members are able to input useful, meaningful, and timely data.  For example, NAICS codes are available in table look-ups and sorted by Industry name or number.  Descriptions for each are included so accurate selection of NAICS codes can be made.  Our drill down location system is available for ease of use as well as accuracy.  A RF(X) can not be posted without a NAICS code.

Supplier information, certifications, and qualifications are kept on-line for quick review.  This helps reduce the amount of data input required and reduces mistakes due to repetitive data entry.  It is available to the buyer for every supplier that has access to the RF(X).

How secure and reliable is RFPsite.com

We use the latest technology available for network operations such as, 64bit AMD processors,

Dual layer DVD backup, tape backup, drive redundancy, UPS power backup, and clustering technology to ensure data is safe and available.

Security is extremely important to RFPsite.com  256 bit Encryption is utilized throughout the system.  Login and password, credit information, bids and files, internal communications, and the proprietary applications that comprise RFPsite.com are all protected.

RFPsite.com software was developed completely in house, using the same tried and tested software in use by such organizations as IBM, NASA, Yahoo, Google, and EBay.  RFPsite.com is  not subject to the development timetable of software companies for our updates.  Our e-procurement system will be updated and improved on a regular basis.

Can RFPsite.com be integrated into our existing system

YES.  RFPsite.com was developed with integration in mind.  Our system runs on our servers and network in multiple states, and can be easily modified to run on your servers if required.  We recognize that some organizations will have special requirements and our system was designed to be flexible.   Permanent Teams of consultants and huge IT or IS budgets are not required.  Integrating RFPsite.com can be a complete boilerplate operation, or a simple database server may need to be inserted into an organization.  Because we use Standard Query Language (SQL) in our database technology, integration can be seamless and easy.

Will RFPsite.com provide the Visibility needed
With RFPsite.com you control the distribution of your RF(X).  You can choose to limit your RF(X) to a certain region, specific suppliers or make it available to all who have the expertise and capacity for maximum visibility.  No other service offers the market visibility and features that RFPsite.com does.

Why should we use RFPsite.com

Our system is powerful, reliable, flexible, and cost effective.  You will realize benefits such as ease of use, sophisticated reporting, improved bid and RF(X) manageability, greatly reduced advertising, and delivery costs, significant reductions in third party spending, and quicker more accurate responses from the vendor community.  Far fewer RF(X) rescheduling will be needed, so projects will be completed on time.

Buyers can locate many more suppliers quickly and easily, or use their existing suppliers to realize the benefits of competition.  More competition will create lower prices and higher quality.

At the same time, our system provides suppliers with opportunities and contracts they may have never found.  Increased contacts and networking opportunities will help generate additional revenue sources to help grow their business.  RFPsite.com provides a robust environment for buyers and suppliers to meet, network and collaborate.
